David Westwood is a founding partner and managing director at TWW Yachts. From its head office in Monaco, the firm specialises in yacht sales and purchase, charters and new-build construction. TWW also provides management services and global intelligence insights for the wider superyacht industry.

Westwood has worked in the luxury marine sector since the age of 20, when he ran a private fleet of yachts, including SY America. He led the rebuild of the motor yacht The Wellesley, which won a MYBA award in 2016 – one of the industry’s most prestigious. He is also behind M, which won the best displacement motor yacht award at the 2025 BOAT International World Superyacht Awards.

David’s story begins barefoot, racing dinghies on southern-African lakes; it led him to the captaincy of several high-profile yachts in their time, working for a large Italian family. That early responsibility forged the network of owners, shipyards and captains that still powers TWW today.

After co-founding Yacht Help Malta in 2006 and mastering every facet of agency and operational management, he moved into the brokerage segment of the market, partnering with industry greats before co-founding TWW in 2017 and ultimately taking sole ownership. ‘We’ve grown exponentially,’ he says. ‘By embracing digital tools, we answer client calls for speed and agility, yet remain a tightly knit team skilled across sales, charter, management, refit, new build and crew recruitment.’

The results speak for themselves. Over the past 12 months, David has overseen seven deliveries, including 47m M (2025 Boat International World Superyacht Award winner) and nominees Alunya and Emerald. Adding to these triumphs are his latest 2025 superyacht deliveries: the 60m Damen Yachting Xplorer 60 and a 53m Damen Yachting Support Vessel, both completed in August 2025. He also masterminded the award-winning rebuild of 56m The Wellesley, now one of the perennially booked charter favourites within the TWW fleet.
