Singapore-based Steve Sun is an executive director and senior portfolio specialist at Morgan Stanley. A valuable member within the investment bank’s emerging markets equity team, he has over 30 years of industry experience. 

His impressive resumé lists directorial positions at Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan and BNP Paribas. Sun also holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from New York-based, Ivy League school Columbia. 

Sun’s expertise has frequently been called upon by the media. When asked about ESG, for example, he noted that he believes it is a trend that is starting to catch on in emerging markets, but he acknowledges that certain countries are doing better than others. ‘We’re probably in the early stages of it,’ he said. ‘Companies that we work with, management, and even on a country level — [they] are becoming much more aware because it’s going to have a much bigger impact in the longer term.’
