Gemma Dawe is a Lake District native who knows the area and local agents intimately, and puts her experience to great effect as a buying agent at her company, Lake District Relocation.

Many of her deals are conducted off-market, and she acts as a conduit to ready buyers for local contacts in the Lake District as well as the Yorkshire Dales. Dawe also can advise on buying existing properties to redevelop.

‘If you’re going to build in the area, you’re often better off buying a bungalow for $500,000, knocking it down and building something that’ll be worth a lot more. [The Lake District is] a national park and a Unesco World Heritage Site; it’s very strict, so you have to know how to navigate that,’ she tells Spear’s.
