Karim Chowdhury is a director of private banking at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) UK.

Chowdhury joined SG Kleinwort Hambros in 2024 from Butterfield. The former’s 2025 acquisition by UBP means that Chowdhury is able to offer his clients ‘a lot more in the private market’.

The charismatic private banker specialises in working with HNW clients, family offices and trusts. He finds he is able to connect with the growing number of Millennials inheriting wealth and seeking investment solutions: ‘I’m a lot more relatable to this young generation of money we’re coming across now,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘Especially being based in Cambridge, I’ve got tech clients who are selling their companies and coming into a lot of money very young.’
