Assisting private clients with all manner of tax and estate planning, Weightmans partner Jonathan Shankland has a broad client base whose business interests frequently span different jurisdictions. As such, he is poised to offer advice on offshore and onshore concerns, as well as help different generations with ‘pragmatic’ succession planning.
‘My practice is around 70 per cent tax and structuring, and 30 per cent estates and succession,’ he tells Spear’s.
Alongside acting for HNW clients, he has supported royalty and leading business figures with their tax affairs, according to his firm.
‘What distinguishes us is the client contacts we get from private banks and offshore trust referrals,’ he notes. ‘We’re also a team of normal people who are really good at what we do.’
