Charlotte Harris and Hugo Bugg founded their garden design practice, Harris Bugg Studio, in 2017 and have since established a reputation for delivering creative and eye-catching gardens. 

From London, Exeter and Isle of Skye studios, the firm takes on a wide range of projects, including high-end residential gardens, public spaces, and historic and commercial properties. Harris Bugg Studio has also been appointed to revamp the landmark eco-Brutalist gardens of the Barbican Conservatory.

Harris tells Spear’s that the majority of her work is high-end residential projects across the UK – from Cornwall to the Highlands of Scotland – and in Europe. She explains that engaging with local artisans, materials and plant nurseries helps to keep her carbon footprint low and make all projects feel as authentic as possible.

She often collaborates with other specialists as part of a wider design team: ‘It is more enjoyable for everyone when you have good long-term relationships with architects and interior designers, and that really comes through in the work.’
