Spear’s Review 

Gavin McWilliam is a multi-award-winning garden designer and landscape architect who founded and leads McWilliam Studio in Buckinghamshire.

He creates contemporary landscapes that connect people with their surroundings, carefully integrating new buildings into the wider environment and enhancing views. His work spans high-end residential projects across London, the home counties and internationally, as well as large estates and sensitive sites such as crematoriums and burial grounds.

McWilliam tells Spear’s his work is all about ‘sensitively locating a new building in the landscape and getting the most out of it’. He prioritises local materials, texture and narrative to deliver immersive, meaningful gardens. A Chelsea Flower Show Gold medallist, he lectures internationally and is a chartered member of the Landscape Institute and a registered member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers.
