An influential ‘spad’ who supported David Cameron during his time at the front line of British politics, Ameet Gill knows a thing or two about connecting policy and PR. After five years in opposition with Cameron, Gill served as his chief speechwriter in the early days of the coalition government before becoming his director of strategy until the summer of 2016.
When Cameron’s administration fell over the Brexit referendum, Gill launched Hanbury Strategy with Paul Stephenson. The firm has since advised a range of large corporates on PR, policy and regulation.
One particular focus for Gill was developing the firm’s ‘Labour Unit’, created in 2022 to help clients prepare for the possibility of a new government, an event that has since come to pass.
