Elizabeth Bird of Chronos Wealth Management uses her 20 years of experience at top private banks Coutts, UBS and Barclays to advise clients in Manchester and the prosperous areas to the south.

Chronos Wealth offers a holistic approach to wealth management: clients have access to one adviser who covers almost all of their financial needs, from inheritance planning to tax advice. ‘I look after quite a lot of business owners and [those with] inherited wealth,’ she tells Spear’s. ‘What I find is when clients haven’t had that much experience in dealing with a wealth manager, they almost don’t know what to expect from that relationship.

‘So we explore their personal and financial situations, what their experience has been of dealing with professionals in the industry – accountants, lawyers, wealth management, banks – and then what they want.’

Adviser Profile

Elizabeth Bird set up Chronos Wealth Management in 2017 after a 15-year career as an adviser within the UK’s leading private banks. Originally based in the City of London, she headed back home to Cheshire, assisting in the setup of UBS Wealth Management to advise a number of north-west high-profile business owners and families.

Over her 20-year career, Elizabeth has specialised in studying the individual needs of high-net-worth families and the specific issues that significant wealth can create.

‘As both a successful business owner and mother, I understand the importance of safeguarding family wealth for the next generation; in particular helping younger people understand how family wealth is both respected and sustained.’

Elizabeth’s mathematical degree from Oxford University sparked her interest in financial modelling and behavioural finance; both of which play a pivotal role in the ongoing advice that she provides.

‘My mission is to help my clients understand the successful blend of conventional economics and finance, with the psychology behind how our minds can help or hinder our investment success. With this knowledge together we build them a robust financial plan and help them stay on track.’
