Having moved to the region in 2013, he has seen the UAE evolve and attract expatriates from across the world. This has resulted in wealth management firms in the region diversifying their expertise to cater to wealth held across jurisdictions — something Nedbank is well placed to do.

Bates has three decades of experience in the industry and has advised a range of international clients, from Latin America and the Caribbean to North America and South Africa.

He is a graduate of London Business School and a chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
