Roger Gherson is a leading figure in the immigration field, with specialisms in tribunals, High Court judicial reviews and cases at the European Court of Human Rights. Commercial, property, tax and litigation law are also notable strengths.

‘I deal with immigration, sanctions – both acting for sanctioned individuals and [providing] advice in respect of companies and individuals seeking advice about the sanctions regime – money laundering, unexplained wealth orders, Interpol, extradition, asylum and investment treaty arbitration. The firm is pretty unique in dealing with these areas,’ he said.

Gherson’s eponymous firm was founded in 1988, soon accumulating a large Asian clientele following the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. During that time, Gherson helped many HNWs emigrate from Hong Kong before the 1997 handover to China.
