Spear’s Review

Steven Tregear, who joined Russells in 1985, is head of dispute resolution at the entertainment law specialist. ‘It’s our 50th year,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘Our client base throughout that entire period has been principally in the music industry, but in more recent times we’ve been broadening the church.’

Tregear specialises in resolving disputes for companies and individuals in entertainment, media and sport, advising on defamation, privacy, celebrity harassment by the media and breach of confidence matters. He also often acts in international arbitration claims, for both claimants and respondents.

One highlight for him was achieving, alongside colleagues, landmark phone-hacking damages for three clients from Mirror Group Newspapers in 2017.
