Steven Tregear, who joined Russells in 1985, is head of litigation at the entertainment law specialist. ‘It’s our 50th year,’ he told Spear’s. ‘Our client base throughout that entire period has been principally in the music industry, but in more recent times we’ve been broadening the church.’

Tregear specialises in resolving disputes for companies and individuals in entertainment, media and sport, advising on defamation, privacy, celebrity harassment by the media and breach of confidence matters.

One highlight for him was achieving, alongside colleagues, landmark phone-hacking damages for three clients from Mirror Group Newspapers in 2017. Russells recently moved from its Soho base – its home since the firm was founded in 1974 – to a Great Portland Street location.
