Based in Liechtenstein, Hannes Arnold’s areas of practice at Gasser Partner include corporate law, civil law and litigation, bank and finance law, and real estate law.
He has particular expertise in commercial matters, such as M&A transactions and corporate reorganisations, and regularly acts for HNW clients, assisting them with both personal and business structuring, ‘often across jurisdictions’, he tells Spear’s. This includes litigating in complex, high-value disputes, and navigating regulatory requirements.
Arnold is a member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats, the International Bar Association, the European Law Society, Liechtenstein’s Chamber of Notaries, the Liechtenstein Arbitration Association and the Liechtenstein Bar Association.
Adviser Profile
Hannes Arnold has built one of the most experienced, responsive and innovative banking and finance teams in Liechtenstein. Under his leadership, the team serves as ISDA Counsel for Liechtenstein and authored the first official ISDA netting and collateral industry opinions for the jurisdiction, which were highly regarded by ISDA and market participants alike.
He has advised on numerous high-stakes matters, including major M&A transactions, restructuring projects and the successful launch of several private label fund structures. He also guides clients through complex licensing procedures in investment services and banking. His broad regulatory expertise, combined with extensive experience in corporate law and M&A, distinguishes him as one of the leading practitioners in the Liechtenstein legal market.
He regularly advises HNWIs, international banks, investment firms, institutional investors and advisers in all matters related to corporate law, including reorganisation and restructuring. He is leading numerous complex disputes involving quite substantial amounts, primarily related to corporate structures. He is handling complex litigation as well as arbitration cases, often including parties in several jurisdictions. As co-head of the private wealth team, he advises HNWIs in a variety of estate planning, asset structuring and litigation matters.
His strong expertise in financial markets law lets him understand the issues of particular importance for complex international structures. Particularly notable is his experience in the use and structuring of regulated entities for single family offices and private wealth management purposes. He has handled difficult asset tracing endeavours and enforcement of international judgements with respect to Liechtenstein structures. Clients notice his ‘profound legal knowledge’ and ability to find ‘very good solutions’.
