Jaffa & Co partner Paul Dickie has over three decades of experience in maritime litigation and insurance law. He focuses on providing advice to UHNW clients and ship owners, shipyards, lenders and commodities traders. 

Over the years, Dickie has worked on high-profile cases concerning superyachts: one case involved advising a shipyard on a 100-metre superyacht building contract; another involved assisting a client whose £58 million superyacht was detained in the UK in 2022 after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was taken to the Supreme Court.

On working with a varied and demanding client base, Dickie tells Spear’s: ‘We aim to provide a commercial response. We’re not just lawyers for the sake of being lawyers; we see it as bringing law into our commercial situation and using that to achieve outcomes that the client wants.’
