Founded in 1977 by David and Kate Cottingham, Ferrari specialist DK Engineering offers acquisitions, restoration, race preparation, service, accident repair and supply of parts, with a machine shop, engine shop, rolling road dynamometer, engine shop, and software and diagnostic equipment for all Ferrari models.

The company developed from Cottingham’s love for XK Jaguars, which he repaired to help pay for his racing hobby. It was only once he found out just how skilled he was that his attention turned to restoring Ferraris. ‘I was fascinated by their much broader range of engine designs, and I started restoring and rebuilding earlier examples of the marque,’ he says. Today the business remains family-owned and led, with David and Kate’s sons taking on operational and managerial positions.
