‘It was an extremely bold move,’ she reflects. ‘I knew what I had to offer was different to my competitors.’

Nicholls’ career started in her hometown of Cardiff, where she specialised in proceeds-of-crime issues and general criminal defence work. After several years with responsibility for high-value contracts from the Legal Aid Agency, she made the leap to using her advocacy skills in the Crown Courts of London, where her career continued to soar.
