Judith Seddon started out at an employment law firm that concentrated on representing trade unions, but it wasn’t long before she became convinced that her career lie in criminal law.

‘I ended up working as a trainee on a big fraud case, representing an individual. That sealed my fate,’ she tells Spear’s. A partner at Ashurst since 2024, she brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, dividing her time between corporate clients and individuals, and representing witnesses and defendants in criminal and regulatory matters. This has included some very high-profile cases, as well as cross-jurisdictional cases in which she worked with American counterparts.

‘I think there’s an advantage to representing a broad client base, because you see things from different perspectives,’ she says.
