Craig MacKenzie was a forensic scientist before he retrained in law, becoming a partner and solicitor advocate at Forbes in 2010. He is now head of the firm’s high-profile and private crime division.

As a solicitor advocate, MacKenzie can personally represent his clients at trial and has done so on hundreds of occasions. His understanding of complex evidence and strong presentation skills have earned him a strong reputation in the field. 

MacKenzie is often consulted by the press in matters of criminal law, including appearing on the BBC, and he speaks at events and conferences. He is based in Preston and attends cases nationwide. ‘The fact that I’m one of the very few people doing this kind of work who doesn’t base themselves in the capital is a real selling point for me,’ he tells Spear’s.
