William Tyler KC of The 36 Group is a leading family law barrister, having received silk in 2014 and taking up a second term as joint head of chambers in September 2023. He appears in courts around the country, concentrating on children law and cases that raise international issues. 

As well as his practice with clients in England and Wales, he is a high bailiff and Deemster (high court judge) in the Isle of Man, and a recorder in the family court.

He has a great deal of experience of taking cases before the UK Supreme Court and Court of Appeal and dealing with the Court of Protection, and is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.

Notable cases include Re A (A Child) [2023], which centred around habitual residence and the 1996 Hague Child Protection Convention; and Re S [2020], a complex parental alienation case.
