Spear’s Review

Adam Paterson is a partner at Clarence Family Law, where he advises clients on all aspects of family law, namely divorce and separation, children matters and financial remedy proceedings.

Paterson is experienced in finding solutions to cases with an international dimension and has a particular focus on ‘complicated cases where HNW families are involved’.

Often, clients own a private business which is ‘difficult to value because it’s not listed on the stock exchange’, he tells Spear’s. ‘I have to be creative around finding solutions for people, thinking about both the wife’s and the husband’s side.’

Paterson joined Clarence Family Law in 2025 from Penningtons Manches Cooper, attracted to Clarence’s boutique structure and discerning clientele. ‘Being small and flexible, we are able to meet various clients’ needs,’ he explains.
