‘My approach is very much to stay out of court and to reach settlements privately,’ says Archie Best, the founding partner of Melius Family Law.

‘I think clients appreciate that, because at some of the bigger firms, you can quite easily fall into the trap of starting court proceedings and moving down that track without a lot of intervention or thought,’ he explains.
