For more than 30 years, Dr Robert Lefever has specialised in helping patients with addictions to drugs and alcohol; addictive or compulsive behaviours; and eating disorders.

He previously ran a private practice and rehabilitation centre in South Kensington and Kent with 120 staff, but he now works on a one-to-one basis with his patients. ‘I can concentrate 100 per cent on the patient in front of me,’ he says. ‘It is the most rewarding work, to help people in their lives and help them to get well.’

Lefever is also a keen writer, having penned several novels. He enjoys exploring ideas about his life and work, always incorporating the theme of addiction into the storylines.
