Former BlackRock managing director Peter Beske Nielsen joined EQT in 2021 to lead its private wealth efforts. He enables high-value private investors to connect to alternative investment opportunities via the firm’s private wealth solution, which launched in 2023 and gives private investors the opportunity to access similar opportunities and education as institutional investors. In 2025, the firm was set to launch of a number of new evergreen strategies offering private wealth clients increased access to the market. 

Through what it calls an ‘active ownership approach’, the firm strives for long-term value creation in the businesses in which it invests. One particular strength of EQT, Beske Nielsen tells Spear’s, is the firm’s ability to support companies at every stage of the growth cycle, from scaling up early-stage start-ups through to IPOs and M&A deals. To achieve this, he explains, the team often follow potential investments for several years before investing.
