Simon Holdsworth is the founder and managing director at Holdsworth Financial, an independent brokerage firm specialising in high-value and specialist mortgages. 

Maintaining close links with a number of high-profile private banks, Holdsworth advises on residential mortgages for town houses and country estates, as well as development, buy-to-let and portfolio lending for property investors.

Having been a mortgage broker since starting with John Charcol in the 1990s, Holdsworth and his staff now take on a select number of clients in order to provide a high level of personal service. When Spear’s last spoke to him, Holdsworth was fixing the computer of a younger member of a longstanding family client. ‘I haven’t done a mortgage for him yet,’ he said, taking a long view.
