Martina Sanow heads the private client department of private equity fund and investment firm Hg.
The company, which has around $75 billion in funds under management and a portfolio comprising software and technology businesses, has in the past had mostly institutional and corporate investors. However, as sophisticated investors are realising the value of access to private markets, the number of individuals and family offices looking to become limited partners has been rising. Sanow is leading the effort to welcome new clients, understand their objectives and attitudes to risk, and aid them in selecting the funds they wish to invest in.
She says: ‘There is an increasing appetite for private individuals to access private markets to diversify their portfolios and get access to top-tier private equity managers.’
