After more than 30 years on Fleet Street culminating in working on due diligence for Dow Jones, Justin Williams has all of the skills needed to run an investigations agency.

InsightX started out assessing reputational risk and business relationships in sport, and the company has now moved into business and the arts.

Asked what his clients are looking for, Williams told Spear’s: ‘There’s financial stuff, corporate relationships, what they do on social media, how they interact with other people, their behaviour, exploitative practices in some parts of the world, their environmental record.

‘You might have to source records of, for example, criminal convictions by different means ... And so obviously, you need people who are skilled at doing that.’
