John Pendleton is the director of specialist operations at Blackstone Consultancy, a private security and investigations specialist. 

Pendleton spent three decades in the Metropolitan Police Service, where he worked in counterterrorism and protection roles, achieving the rank of chief superintendent. He is regarded as one of the UK’s leading experts on the protection of people, places and events, and for many years he worked within the Home Office’s security and counterterrorism department, advising government ministers on how to assess highly sensitive intelligence. 

Pendleton, who had the highest level of UK security clearance, was also responsible for leading the government’s response to the Salisbury poisoning in 2018. Now, he applies his expertise to corporate and private clients, providing them with close protection solutions as well as surveillance, investigations and litigation support.
