Paul Avon has nearly 30 years of experience in the international recruitment business. In 2015, he started his own company, True House Partners, which specialises in recruiting for family offices and a number of other fields, including wealth management, tax and investment.
He tells Spear’s that recruiting candidates has become easier due to the growing prevelance and awareness of family offices. ‘When I first started, family offices were obscure and weren’t in the headlines as they are now,’ Avon says. ‘Whereas now I get calls all the time from individuals who want to get into a family office.’
However, finding the right fit for the role remains essential. ‘The ideal person to work for a family office has no ego,’ he says. ‘You’ve got to understand that you’re working for the client and you’re there to ultimately deliver a service [that benefits them].’
