Having worked in executive search for over 15 years, Adam Scarr’s resumé covers the gamut of boutique firms and FTSE 250 companies from London to Singapore.

In 2022 he founded Bayford Hale after spending more than six years as Coutts’ head of recruitment, a role that required working with the bank’s former chief executive, Peter Flavel. ‘It was a thoroughly enjoyable job, but the next challenge was to start my own business,’ Scarr tells Spear’s. 

Scarr focuses on placing front-line professionals – such as relationship managers and wealth managers – at banks and wealth management firms using the network of contacts he developed during his time with Coutts. But, he notes, the industry has evolved since then. ‘There’s been a war on assets as opposed to a war on talent, because when companies are hiring, they want people who can bring assets with them.’
