A practising GP for three decades, Dr Carolyn Barshall has previously been one of the doctors supporting the royal household, and is a consultant to King Edward VII’s Hospital, a private hospital in Marylebone closely associated with the royal family.

Through her own practice at Chelsea General Practice, Barshall looks after families, individuals and employees at smaller local companies, providing a primary service and making referrals to established consultants where appropriate. ‘I aim to provide medical care of an excellent standard with a focus on prevention and helping to maintain an individual’s best possible health,’ she tells Spear’s.

Barshall’s particular clinical interests include health screening and menopausal care through body identical hormones. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and holds a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology.
