Mark Boyden is clinical director, psychotherapist and executive coach at Mark Boyden Associates.

With almost 20 years of experience at the top end of the sector, he counts UHNWs, senior corporate executives and royalty among his clientele. Boyden tells Spear’s that he also sees a lot of entrepreneurs, namely those ‘in their late twenties, early thirties and some in their forties who have done very well, and they’re looking for more of a mentoring or coaching role from me’. Naturally, discretion is paramount in his clinic.

Boyden, who worked as a venture capitalist earlier in his career, is well equipped to help clients through a wide range of situations, from addiction and bereavement to work-related stress and personality disorders.

He says that the tide has turned on mental health in recent years. ‘GPs are referring far more than they used to; I think public awareness has changed considerably,’ he explains, adding that celebrities and high-profile figures have helped to move the dial.
