Over his three decades practising as a psychiatrist, Dr Stephen Pereira has become attuned to the needs of City high-fliers and Mayfair money managers. At The Althea Practice, which has consulting rooms in London Bridge and on the King’s Road, he develops strategies to help high-powered executives and business owners cope with stress and ‘manage their minds’, he tells Spear’s, favouring preventative measures wherever possible. 

His high-profile clients – who have spoken openly about their work with him – include James Middleton and ITV newsreader Tom Bradby, whom he treated for insomnia, as well as former Lloyds Banking Group head António Horta-Osório. 

Prior to opening his private practice, Pereira was a leading clinician in NHS hospitals in North London. He has developed university clinical courses and co-authored a globally significant textbook on best practices for intensive psychiatric care.
