Spear’s Review

A regular contributor in the media on medical matters, Dr Tim Lebens can be seen as UK high society’s personal general practitioner, taking a patient-centred approach to medicine.

Operating from The Wellington Hospital’s outpatients centre, Lebens has more than 35 years of experience in general medicine. In 2018, he was awarded the honour of a fellowship of the Royal College of General Practice for achievements in general practice, public health and education.

Lebens’ knowledge of psychiatry developed during his training at the Priory Hospital, as did his keen interest in preventative medicine and health screening, part of his belief that a GP should treat the whole person rather than individual symptoms.

‘The reason I went into general practice is the continuity of care,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘If you feel you can trust your doctor, then you’re halfway there to getting better.’
