‘We’ve always been on the UHNW end’, says Osborne Clark partner Stuart Janaway, who specialises in tax and wealth structuring advice, ‘and we’re certainly winning more complicated mandates in lots of different jurisdictions’.
Janaway’s momentum is built on his experience acting for an array of offshore trusts in Europe, the Channel Islands, the Caribbean and the US. He is well known in the international private wealth landscape, which has been buzzing with ‘good clients and interesting matters’.
But it’s not a cloudless sky; Janaway points to the ‘constant tinkering with the rules’ in the UK tax regime, which ‘has been a big frustration and doesn’t put the UK in a good light’.
