The UK-qualified Shiraz Khan, who is based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, is a lawyer with many talents. With more than 22 years of experience, he currently sits as Al Tamimi & Company‘s head of tax, specialising in advising family offices, multinational companies, sovereign wealth funds and private equity groups on their international investments. He is highly skilled at advising on cross-border M&As, complex structures, Islamic finance and real estate transactions.

He tells Spear’s about the changing tax landscape in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, particularly in Oman, which is looking to find ways to increase its revenue from inward investment using income tax. It’s a trend, he says, and other low-tax countries might follow suit.
