James Lister is a key figure at Stevens & Bolton, a Surrey-based firm ‘offering excellence beyond the City’.

Lister joined the firm to head up the contentious trusts and estates practice in 2017, and was named partner in 2019. He advises primarily on disputes relating to HNW and UHNW individuals and their affairs, both onshore and offshore. 

‘Will and trust disputes always produce a fascinating array of novel issues and situations, where clients’ emotions and feelings become difficult to separate from the legal principles at stake,’ notes Lister.

With substantial experience in advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries, Lister also acts for clients in family court proceedings, in contested probate matters and in relation to claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
