‘It always feels like a privilege when clients share their family backgrounds with me,’ says Michelle Rose, head of private clients at Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV). ‘It’s as important as the law governing the dispute they have – without a true understanding of the family dynamics and the personalities involved, it is much harder to negotiate a settlement.’ 

Based in the VWV’s Bristol office, Rose specialises in disputes arising out of wills, probate and trusts.

She says it’s important to treat clients individually. ‘Some clients need support at a traumatic time of their lives,’ she notes, pointing out that they are often working together following a death, ‘while others close down and want a steely solicitor without dealing with the emotional side of the dispute’.
