Tax adviser David Nelson’s approach encompasses three overlapping elements: establishing trust, thinking long-term and solving clients’ problems.

Nelson joined Dixon Wilson in 1984, and has since acquired broad experience in advising HNW families and businesses on their tax issues, with particular expertise when it comes to landed estates, offshore trusts and UK residents who have retained a foreign domicile.

A partner since 1990, he has significant experience acting as a trustee and non-executive director, with clients in the public and private arenas. Sectors include media, hotels and hospitality, insurance and training, while trusteeships include landed estates and other diverse business interests. And while Nelson has stepped back from his role as senior partner, which he held from 2008 to 2018, he now takes a more active role in advising clients.
