Jones leads the private client tax team at BKL, which specialises in high-level tax advice for HNWs and UHNWs, especially non-domiciled and non-resident individuals – a specialism he has developed over his long career. More recently he has advised holders of cryptocurrencies on the tax implications of their virtual investments.

He says private clients’ affairs are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so much so that his main priority before giving advice is to ‘understand the full picture of their finances. Today’s HNWs are looking for an in-depth service that covers tax, trusts and estates, as well as a service where the technical expertise also comes with a personal, human interest.’
