‘I lead our national private client team. Depending on how you categorise people, it’s probably 10 to 15 partners, probably about 250 people, and in terms of clients, very much in that ultra [high-net-worth] space,’ says Michael Hooke when Spear’s asks him about his work in the Deloitte UK tax team.

‘I’ve been with the firm here for over 25 years, and you accumulate different experiences. I started off doing work with trusts. Then personal tax work. There was a period where I was doing a lot of advising management teams and business owners on transactions,’ he says. 

‘Obviously it’s all against the backdrop of what we do from a private client perspective. It’s managing relationships and communicating advice in different ways.’
