Inga Verbeeck is the founder and CEO of Ivy Relations, an international matchmaking company headquartered in Antwerp whose typical clients are worth £20 million.

‘We are a service provider that saves people time,’ she says, ‘and time is the only commodity that you cannot buy.’

Since 2011, Ivy Relations has helped more than 300 couples tie the knot. When Spear’s last met Verbeeck, the firm had 900 ‘active members’ (out of a pool of 3,000) and had ambitions to increase that number to 5,000 – at which point the firm would be nearing turnover of £100 million. ‘The fact of the matter is that it is a proper business, a real business,’ Verbeeck says.
