Benedetto Vigna
Spear’s Review
Benedetto Vigna sees Ferrari as more than just a car company. For him, it’s part of the dynamic technology industry.
CEO since September 2021, Vigna is a physicist who has never worked full-time in motoring. But he knows about sensors, batteries, engines, user experience and agile development, and is working to redefine what it means to make advanced performance cars.
In 2016, Ferrari insisted it would never make an SUV or an electric vehicle. Since then, it has created the Purosangue, which the company insists is not an SUV, just a very tall sports car, and is developing its first all-electric vehicle. On track for completion in 2026, the car will be manufactured in Ferrari’s new ‘e-building’, a state-of-the-art facility set to continue Vigna’s mission to revolutionise Ferrari’s production capabilities.
Demand continues to exceed supply for the iconic sports car brand, which, as of Q2 2025, delivered the highest volume of units to clients in its history, with a 4 per cent rise in sales in EMEA – a crucial region of expansion for the motoring industry.
