Stefan Bollinger, previously co-head of private wealth management for EMEA at Goldman Sachs, has taken on a new leadership role in the private banking and wealth management space as CEO of Zurich-based Julius Baer. 

Bollinger had led Goldman’s wealth management business for over four years alongside Goldman stalwart Christopher French; together they worked to further cement the firm’s position in the industry. ‘We have doubled the business – from the number of people we have, the number of offices we have and the number of assets we manage,’ Bollinger previously told Spear’s.

In announcing Bollinger’s appointment, Julius Baer chairman Romeo Lacher said Bollinger ‘combines a comprehensive understanding of risk, products and of how to deliver value to global wealth management clients through building scalable client-centric businesses. 

‘He brings a unique combination of leadership, client and people skills with strong technical knowhow and functional expertise to Julius Baer.’
