In September 2025, Kering announced the appointment of Francesca Bellettini as Gucci CEO.

Previously deputy CEO of Kering, Bellettini had been mooted as a potential successor to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault at the helm of the family-owned luxury retail empire. However, that role has gone to former Renault CEO Luca de Meo, who ‘intend[s] to build a leaner and clearer organisation in which the best talent drive our houses forward’, according to a corporate statement.

After starting her career in London as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Compass Partners International, Bellettini entered the fashion industry more than 25 years ago at the Prada group. She has held senior positions across some of the Kering’s biggest brands, and will be tasked – alongside new creative director Demna – with righting the ship at Gucci, which has has seen falling sales since 2023.
