Brooks Macdonald’s Andrea Montague was appointed CFO of the UK wealth management business in August 2023, only to be named its group chief executive a year later. 

Monatgue has sought to reposition Brooks Macdonald as a UK-focused wealth management firm, and in 2025 it sold its international arm to Canaccord. The firm also acquired three new businesses to boost its financial planning offering and moved its listing from the Alternative Investment Market to the main London Stock Exchange to widen its investor base. Amid a difficult environment for wealth managers, Brooks Macdonald saw its funds under management and advice grow 17.3 per cent between June 2024 and June 2025, from £16.4 billion to £19.2 billion.

Commenting on the financial results, Montague said: ‘This year we have focused on the execution of our strategy to reignite growth. We are now a UK-focused wealth manager. We have created a scalable financial planning business ... We are building momentum and creating the conditions for success. I am confident in the outlook for the current financial year and beyond.’
