Spear’s Review
The Dubai-based Jumeirah Group is a formidable name in international luxury hospitality, and at the centre of its global strategy is Thomas B. Meier. Named COO in 2021 and CEO in 2025, he has been instrumental in guiding the group’s international expansion and operational standards, ensuring that each property – from the iconic Burj Al Arab to hotels in Bali, the Maldives and London – reflects the brand’s exacting approach to service, design and exclusivity.
Trained at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (now EHL Hospitality Business School), Meier cut his teeth across Asia, rising to vice president of global operations at Raffles before overseeing hotel openings and integration for its parent company across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. A five-year tenure at Minor Hotels further refined his expertise in scaling operations while preserving a luxury ethos.
Under Meier’s leadership, Jumeirah is looking to double its portfolio by 2030, with a strategic emphasis on boutique properties and luxury residences tailored to UHNW travellers.
