Chris Oxley

Spear’s Review

Executive search is a people business. HR departments don’t focus on people as much as they should do, and that’s where I can add value,’ says Chris Oxley, founder and managing director of Oxley & Partners. ‘I have such an in-depth relationship with my clients that they’ll come to me after two weeks or three weeks or even several months after a placement to ask for my advice. I think what I’m doing is quite unique in that regard.’

Oxley came highly recommended to Spear’s by an industry peer. Primarily working with family offices, investment management firms and private equity businesses, he routinely places candidates at the director level. But what differentiates his service is his work in occupational psychology, which he believes provides him with a useful advantage when communicating with firms and prospective candidates.

Adviser Profile

Hello, Chris Oxley here, founder of Oxley & Partners, a dedicated executive search firm operating within the Wealth & Investment space with a strong track record of fulfilling key mandates across Leadership, Finance, Operations, Investments, and senior-level front office positions.

For many years, it has been my pleasure to support a growing number of private banks, high-end IFA practices, asset managers, investment management firms, family offices, corporate finance houses, and private equity firms. Clients come to me with a variety of mid-to-senior level search requirements, typically within the aforementioned verticals. However, I am known for my versatility and expertise in solving a wide range of human capital problems.

With a naturally curious manner, I base my client approach on individually tailored, ego-free strategies that focus on the humanistic side of executive search. I believe in a less structured approach when meeting for the first time, allowing for free-flowing conversations that, in my experience, form genuine connections and lead to a greater understanding. I work to bring people together, not solve maths equations, and my approach reflects this.

Beyond placements, I host OxTalks, a podcast that highlights teachings from psychology, leadership, and neuroscience, offering a wealth of knowledge to professionals and curious minds alike. The podcast has proved to be an incredibly unique networking and introduction facilitator. Direct introductions from the show have led to expert learning and development introductions, event speaker engagements, and even board advisory appointments due to the relevance of my guests within the wealth community.
