‘I work with our travellers to bring the world to life in ways they didn’t think were possible,’ Black Tomato’s Tom Pyman told Spear’s. ‘It’s about taking people deeper.’ 

Far from the world of travel, Pyman began his career at Barclays before quite literally jumping ship to island hop around East Asia and Australia. Now as a sales manager and travel expert, he specialises in organising trips for HNW clients around the Middle East and Latin America. 

He believes in collaborating with clients to find what’s right for them. ‘I may be an expert, but I keep myself very humble before them,’ he said. 

One of his favourites excursions was a Black Tomato trip to Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. ‘I visited after hours, with not a soul in sight other than my guide and I. Handed the keys by the night guard — the literal key to heaven for the Ancient Egyptians – I unlocked the Valley of the Kings and set foot alone amongst the tombs.’
