Edward Bennett’s rise in the family bar has been meteoric since his call in 2013. Clients include UHNWs and celebrities, all of whom have benefited from his advocacy and knowledge of the law. 

With a special focus on international children law, particularly relating to issues of surrogacy, adoption and abduction, the Harcourt Chambers barrister has become known as one of the leading authorities in the field. This is reflected in his numerous awards, his editorship of the prestigious International Family Law Journal between 2015 and 2020 (he continues to sit on its editorial board) and his membership in leading family law committees.

Originally trained as a solicitor at Allen & Overy in London and Prague, Bennett tells Spear’s that every day is different in his life of work. A unique niche in his expertise includes his work in peerage and baronetcy law, which he acknowledges as being ‘esoteric but valuable’.
