Laura Clapton co-founded Consilia Legal in 2014; the firm now provides family law, mediation and litigation services to high-net-worth families in London, Leeds and Harrogate.

With a large amount of referrals coming from contacts in London’s commercial law firms, many of Clapton’s clients are business owners or senior executives; they may be based in London but often have historical or family connections in Yorkshire. 

She told Spear’s: ‘I can be a very calming influence in a mediation session. Lawyers may have otherwise fallen into the trap of becoming quite positional and it becoming acrimonious, but by all working together we can get them through it pretty scar-free.’
